Kliksafe

One of my biggest projects I did during my internship at digital agency Elephant, regarding a wi-fi provider that has its biggest focus on online safety.

Kliksafe

Our task was to create a totally new environment for Kliksafe users to manage their subscriptions. We had the original framework of their general website, which we could use to create this new environment.

First of all, I had to look at other wi-fi providers in order to understand how a website like that worked. I had to learn which functions were necessary and which weren’t. I looked at other providers such as Odido and KPN.

I also had to understand the customer base of Kliksafe, so I thoroughly looked through their original website and their blog posts. They are very focused on online safety, as their audience is mainly religious. They also have a large older audience, so we had to keep this in mind as we designed.

My tasks during this project were as follows:

  • Deskresearch

  • Planning

  • Wireframing

  • Prototyping

The initial plan was to start with making simple wireframes, but since we had an entire galaxy of components ready for us already, we could immediately move on to basically creating the entire layout already. We wanted to focus on a few key screens, such as overseeing a subscription, internetfilters, settings and a partnerflow.

I went to work creating (for example) the internetfilters and several screens for settings. I also created a flow where the user can change and edit their subscription, including things such as upsells.

I created various components such as a new buttons and sections, in which I could develop my Figma skills.

Process

Results

All in all we ended up with a presentable flow, which was user-friendly yet clean and aesthetic. The client was very enthusiastic as well — something we’d hoped for. Now, it is time to create further screens and work with the feedback we got.

My experience

During this project I learnt a lot about Figma and auto-layout which was very valuable to me. I will be able to use those skills during the rest of my internship and my further career. I also loved designing for a different client and target audience than which I’m used to, because it lead me to look in a different way at what I was designing. Overall, it was a very valuable project to me.
